Asylum is a human right
and not a privilege!

We are here because you
destroy our countries

1 March 2021 | 7:30 pm
We experience isolation in isolation. What is the situation like for women? What difficulties do single women* face? Do we have means of protection against violence? ...

Wars in our countries
19 March 2021 | 7:30 pm
How do we feel when our families are stuck in wars or camps? Iraq was attacked by NATO on 19 March 2003, Libya on 19 March 2011.

How do we live in the camps today
2 April 2021 | 7:30 pm

What is the situation in the camps during the pandemic? What is the medical care like? What is it like for our children? How do we communicate with our communities? Is there internet? ...

Poverty - Corona - Flight - Migration
19 April 2021 | 7:30 pm
What are the new difficulties for us in the pandemic? How do we cope with our lives? Are there government restrictions and obstacles to our lives? What can we do?

Digitalised bureaucracy & difficulties
3 May 2021 | 7:30 pm
Since the beginning of the pandemic, counselling services and bureaucracy have gone digital. Language courses suspended. What does it mean for us without a comprehensive knowledge of German and without the internet?

Corona deportations
17 May 2021 | 7:30 pm
One thing has not changed in the pandemic: Deportations continue. Every day deportation are carried out to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. What can we do ourselves?

Who are we?
We are CARAVAN for the rights of refugees and migrants. We organise ourselves and take care of our concerns together. Since 1998, we have been fighting in Germany for our basic rights, against deportations, against exploitation, against racism, against isolation and police brutality and against any kind of injustice... The slogan "We are here because you are destroying our countries" has accompanied us since our existence, because the global colonial and imperialist order determines our lives and forces us to flee. We rebel against this everywhere and strengthen ourselves through solidarity action.
Since 2004, we have been continuously active together with the Federation of Migrant Workers from Turkey in Germany AGIF and other migrant self-organisations in Wuppertal. Before Corona we had a weekly open meeting. This is no longer possible, so we now organise online meetings.

Solidarity against
colonial injustice

What do we want to do together?
For a year now, the pandemic has been endangering the lives and livelihoods of all people. However, the lives of all people are not equally and equally aggravated. Every day, the gap between rich and poor is widening. Governments are only interested in the giant corporations.
Corona hits us refugees particularly hard. Above all, our sisters and brothers, our children, who are on the move at the borders of Europe in search of a safe place, are living in a nightmare. Our families and acquaintances whom we have had to leave behind in our countries of origin are, in addition to the pandemic, perhaps additionally affected by wars or the economic consequences of the pandemic or sanctions. They are struggling to survive every day. Maybe they are also affected by the persecution of dictatorial regimes that forbid them to organise and stand up for their rights as workers, women, pupils and students or teachers.
We want to analyse the situation from different aspects and discuss it together: What is it like to be a refugee in Germany? Under which living conditions do we live here? What injustices are we confronted with? What can we do together? Since we can neither travel nor meet, we want to offer virtual spaces to exchange, have joint discussions and look for ways to defend our rights. If other issues seem more important to you and you want to discuss and develop solutions with communities in solidarity, please tell us about them. Together we can look back on 500 years of resistance against colonialism, imperialism and injustice and bring our experiences into future struggles in solidarity, regardless of origin, language, religion, gender, age, ...
