SAALFELD (GERMANY) MAKE THE PEOPLE SUFFER
Once again the voice refugee forum in Jena organised yet another event just a month after the katzhütte schocking revelations of the refugees in Germany (see the report “the psychological oppression in Thueringen Germany Saturday 26 April 2008”: https://thevoiceforum.org/node/795). This time in Saalfeld another city in East Germany just an hour away from Katzhütte, Saalfeld was hit by the refugee expostulations. In the centre of the city-Markt Saalfeld-and later the procession continued to the Landratsamt Saalfeld (the district administration office), the official executives’ safe haven.
The refugees demanded recognition as human beings, the Theme and the declaration concentrated on the closure of the despicable Barracks-camp in katzhütte. The demand to live as normal people in normal houses, abolish isolation in Germany. That Germany should wakeup to the new developments and revolution of the world, it was painful for the refugees to remind the Germans that colonialism is outdated and so is slavery, where they used to pack people inhumanly and strip them of their rights. The landkreis (separation) restrictions of the residenzpflicht (movement prohibition) must be abolished and that there should be no compromise to deportation, deportation is a high level abuse of the human rights. Free the people abolish isolation camps.
That Germany shall never rule the world, it failed in its many world wars and now is the time to wakeup from its dream of “make the people suffer” control and suffocate. The demands continued “set the people free not to thwart them so atrociously and send them into illegal hated immigrants all over the world”.
This time around the number was up to more than a hundred people, including a large turn up of refugees, sympathisers of various nationalities, Germans and recognised professionals in Germany as lawyers and ex-member of parliament. (Many professionals qualified outside of the Germany institutions are not recognised here in Germany).
These concerned human beings had only one principle and they repeated it with one voice “the closure of the Katzhütte astounding refugee camp”. People of different nationalities maintained the fact that German is solely responsible for the colonisation and the ruthless demarcations of the African continent.
The fact that the Berlin conference of 1884-1885 took place here in Germany is no coincidence in comparison to how Germany mistreats all refugees. German’s attacks and aggression towards other countries has yielded an influx of refugees in German.
These malicious and greedy attacks are symbolised here in the treatment of all refugees from various countries with inhuman and despicable conditions. One lawyer from Hamburg read and cited the acts and bills regarding the treatment of the human beings. He said by law everyone is equal as a human being regardless of the colour of the skin or the nationality, and that Germany has failed to respect this principle.
The refugees recited in details how the psychological torture has affected them and their children. There is no perspective and it’s so prolonged and overdue in terms of recuperation for these people in regard to the healthy measures, especially the children who are regularly sick and disturbed in the camp conditions all over Germany and especially here in Katzhütte which was the fight and focus of the day.
One Member of Parliament who spoke out for the refugees asserted that Germany has to change its ways and by all means must not only close the camp in Katzhütte but all camps in the country. He repeated that this is a gross abuse to the human rights and to consider that Germany is a co-signatory to the United Nations human rights charter that protects the rights of the humans regardless of any issue whatsoever is a shame and a shock to all people regarding Germany as a developed and well established country.
He said that Germany is turning the people into haunted illegal immigrants with its system of discrimination. He called out to Europe to close down all camps around the world, in Italy, Spain, Libya and many other places, Germany should especially initiate the closures as the camps characteristically symbolise its system of isolation.
All refugees shouted out that the fight shall never stop and regardless of the criminalisation of the refugees by the Germany system they will not give in. Katzhütte camp must be closed.
The refugees continued that the solution to German’s so called problems regarding the influx of the refugees is not to make the people suffer as it’s the norm for centuries, as they introduced it in Africa and maintained it also here in terms of the despicable conditions in the camps and the imprisonment of the refugees in all regards of basic facilities.
Refugees reiterated that there is no hope for employment, no education, no housing facilities, and no proper medication available rather than massive racism and the ruthless discrimination against them in all of the German institutions. Their children are racially discriminated against and the damage that is permanently fixed shall never heal as it is implanted in the crucial formation years of the human developmental system.
They continued that the solution is not the leashing of the police brutality and abet the common shootings of the refugees to death in broad daylight by letting the police off to score free.
The solution is not to burn Oury Jalloh alive in the police basement in cell number five in Dessau and let the police get away with a shocking claim that Oury Jalloh took his own life.
The psychological trauma during the deportation procedures of the refugees from Germany back to their home countries, all tied up as criminals (see Feleke in “the psychological oppression in Thueringen Germany Saturday 26 April 2008 report” https://thevoiceforum.org/node/795).) is no solution either.
The criminalisation of the refugees even after being killed by the police officers, the refusal to accept refugees as human beings, and the outrageous treatment of refugees in the immigration offices all over Germany must be stressed over and over until it crosses over to the Germany authorities.
Recalling the protests of the refugees in the last demonstrations in Katzhütte and Jena in April 2008, how the camp is situated in the forest, and how heavily built bouncers tried to force back the peaceful protest by blockading the grounds. Planted their by the Katzhütte immigration to intimidate the refugees, and the leashing of the police to scatter the refugees as in the attack of the aggressors to the African continent where people were scattered, confused and ruthlessly killed trying to resist the attack in the course of the slave trade saga.
The refugees continued that the Germans live in the poor so called underdeveloped countries, employed with the best jobs, best living conditions; their children attend the best international schools all over the world with the best healthy insurances for their perfect upkeep. And here the refugees and their children receive the (Krankenschein), the lowest grade of the healthy service and live in conditions as in Katzhütte.
The children in those countries respectively are undernourished; they wallow in poverty, engulfed in illiteracy and are born on the streets. These same children are turned into children soldiers (kinder soldaten) holding the weapons that are shipped from here instead of holding a book and a piece of bread like German’s own children. Likewise the children in the Germany camps are traumatised and deprived of the proper childhood upbringing unlike the Germany children.
That these Germans are in these continents disguised as developmental partners, working day and night to see to the well being and the normal growth of the population into the desired, accepted communities gauged from the societies in these so called developed countries.
The refugees asserted that these claims have no grain of truth in them whatsoever they want the Germans out of their countries (ausländer-raus) as it is the norm here. It is inconceivable that the same people who treat the refugees so inhumanly and deport them so ruthlessly back to the worldwide known dictators are the same people who claim that their residential purposes in Africa and other countries is completely sympathetic.
It is business and we know it, make the people suffer, ship the weapons and support the dictators in the night and then wake up in the morning and cry developmental funds and partnerships (entwiklungshilfe).
The police officers and immigration officers have no shame in looking forward to making holidays during deportation procedures when the refugees are violently being deported. The refugees from Africa see no difference between colonialism and the demarcations of the continent and now. The names were changed not the system of domination and control. They are now termed as Residenzpflicht (constricted to one region) and Abschiebung (deportation).
Residenzpflicht represents Colonialism and Abschiebung represents the demarcations. The colonies in Africa were restricted to their colonial masters without movement from one village to another and the permission (erlaubnis) was only acquired from a long distance colonial office, and in most cases denied (abgelehnt). Which confined the citizens in villages and separated them from loved ones and families, separated them from social interactions and business tradings, confining them in poverty and isolation, in their own motherland.
Abschiebung represents the demarcations respectively, the colonialists cut through the African regions so heartlessly to possess them and rule the people, disregarding the culture, the traditions and the decadency of the inhabitants. (Oury Jalloh’s burned body was quickly driven to the airport to be deported to Sierra Leon without confirmation of his country of origin 2005, the Nigerians deported to Sudan in 2005, one Sudanese deported to Togo 2008), to name but a few.
In Africa people were ruthlessly returned to the next village they had passed through (now called the Dublin convention, third country unit in Europe) and denied entry to the next village in their own country. Denied the opportunity to re-settle from one region to another (Katzhütte-camp) denied the hope of aspiring in terms of exploration, exposition, social and business transactions and any form of developmental integrations were suffocated. (Employment prohibition, no education, no interaction) “Deny them the freedom of movement and let them suffer”.
Katzhütte is reflected here in all forms of aspects, the actual patterns of the ingredients from centuries ago have now been stretched to all refugees of various nationalities in Germany, isolated in the forest, in the despicable camp conditions and denied the freedom of movement.
The refugees continued that these are no solutions to the influx of the refugees, hatred, institutionalised massive racism, isolation, discrimination, Residenzpflicht, torture them and shut them up are all outdated oppressive tactics.
The solution to all these iniquities-the actual theme of the day here in Saalfeld is the actual respect to MANKIND, which has been tremendously abused for centuries by the Germans.
Germany should close down the camps and set the people free, remove your people from other countries’ welfares and follow legitimate policies not suffocation. Focus on the positive side of Humane and forget the selfish gains of capitalism, people are not goods that should be tossed and packed from camp to camp. There are certain issues that people do not negotiate and “human rights” is one of them.
The refugees suggested that The VOICE must grow higher and louder, therefore there are prepared to go a step further and call for Europe-wide demonstrations that will curb the iniquities from all angles of Europe, and transform into international solidarity under one umbrella. The world shall not be deaf all the time and most definitely Germany must accommodate the feelings and rights of the refugees. Katzhütte must fall.
If we must repeat ourselves for centuries so be it, we are equal to the task as it is also the Dogma upheld by these oppressors for centuries. “Oppress and rule, discriminate, suffocate and hate” so shall we demand, demonstrate, protest and resist the atrocities, till the truth and justice are crystallized and human rights accommodated.
The demonstration was concluded at 19hrs and the refugees left with a promise that the struggle shall continue. Katzhütte must go. (Das lager muß weg).
