Dear supporters,
We thank you for your regular and spontaneous support in this year.
With your contribution, the network and the self-organisation of the refugee communities in Thüringen, Baden-Württemberg and Sachsen-Anhalt could be broadened.
In Thüringen, The VOICE Refugee Forum together with Break Isolation Netzwerk organised almost weekly visits in lagers and regular regional and Thüringenwide meetings of refugees from different lagers. In the meantime, the refugee community has a good network and a wide supporters’ network.

Film, Diskussion and Soliparty with The VOICE Refugee Forum
in Freiburg
The Voice Refugee Forum was founded in 1994 while The Caravan for the rights of Refugees and Migrants came into existence shortly before the 2000 Federal Parliamentary Election. Both organizations are platform for Refugee self organization. Our central call as at then was “No Vote but a VOICE!”.
We have always brought our experiences to name and protest injustices together.
We have achieved lots through civil disobedience in connection to the inhuman Laws.
Not withstanding the limitation set before us, we have together named the residence restriction as an Apartheid law without being intimidated.
We have since our existence stood against deportation of our brothers and sisters because deportation has been mainly used to establish the separation between different Ethnic group, Religion, Skin Colour, Language and Sex to excise the dominance of Rich and the exploited class.
A representative of The VOICE (Rex Osa) will inform us about the new campaign Break the isolation – Close down all Refugee lager in the session. The discussion session and the Party should serve to support the Stuttgart Office of The VOICE in the first place to build its project „Refugees for Refugees “with 50 Percent of the proceeds going to The Voice Refugee Forum.

The Voice of the Oppressed against wrong understanding of Solidarity
By Rex Osa (The VOICE Refugee Forum)
Position of The VOICE Refugee Forum on understanding of Self-organization and the struggle for their Voice
The history of oppression is long and the victims need the space to define our feelings and how to combat these oppressive structures but that doesn’t mean excluding people nor ignoring other struggles that stands against the system but a clear distinction of the need for rapid change without undermining our position
That resistance requires a revolutionary consciousness and orientation that would focus on naming the repression exactly the way they are and a projection of clear and concrete demands that gives no room to any form of solidarity that identifies the law as a borderline.
Our commitment is to mobilise the people against the brutal and repressive policies of the state and its neo-colonial politics of exclusion through empowering the self liberation of the victims of the systematic repression.
Our self organisation seeks to combine different struggles with our call for solidarity devoid of bourgeois democratic processes and negotiations that stand against the political position of the Victims but rather empowering Victims position of self determination.
Our Self organization is intended to take the struggle beyond just building structures that modifies Asylum Laws but structures aimed strengthening the resistance against everything that produces refugees both now and in the future.
It is further more aimed at enforcing and strengthening the movement of the oppressed as our problems does not end with modification or removal of the racist and segregating laws but to create a continuous movement of the oppressed to combat everything that leads to deportation, wars and racism etc.
The major Task of The Voice is to empower the establishment of different refugee communities and committees on Lager and Regional level as a strategy to break the isolation notwithstanding all institutionalized racist restriction. We are bent on creating a step by step, long lasting and continuous structures of the refugee’s resistance against all that we are confronted with on a daily basis, be it the German social welfare Law for asylumseekers (Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz), isolation in Lagers, Movement Restriction (Residenzpflicht), deportation and even the destruction of our countries that precipitated our flight from our home countries.
We Say No to compromising reforms and insist on our belief in continuous works through our presence to instigate changes at all level as well as prompting the effective actions on the parliamentary level. But these changes are not the end destination of our struggle.
We stand to defend our autonomy of struggle although we do recognize the position of different parties or NGOs in their negotiations with their counterparts or colleagues in the bid to reform the system or the laws.
We welcome every campaign against the exclusion or maltreatment aimed at strengthening the self organization of the oppressed and not just actions and discussions that enhances public awareness but fail to mobilize more people to solve the origin of the problem itself.
Therefore, we see our duty to create our own space and pressure through our presence in the public and around other oppressed people. We are bent on naming the injustice, the oppression in its concrete and specific forms from our experiences.
Years of our struggle has shown that the diversity of the people participating in our networks “The VOICE Refugee Forum” and “The CARAVAN-for the Rights of Refugees and Migrants” are the source of progress in the movement of the oppressed, especially for the refugees. We have seen that confrontation and exchange of the various positions, views and experiences from each individual teaches us to examine the dominating media and the ruling classes worldwide.
The process of our self-organizations, everyone has the opportunity to get direct face to face information rather than just through mass media dominated by the journalists, experts and interested members of the ruling class with vested interests.
We welcome everyone to share experiences and knowledge that could strengthen our solidarity base against the colonial and capitalists system which are the basis of all we fight against on the daily level.
Join us and leave behind absolute positions derived on basis of biased information without questioning them. We are open to everyone who would accept us the way we are rather than those trying to teach us how we should behave with our experience with police brutality, state and institutional racism, rape, unspeakable violence etc.
We define our demands. We acknowledge suggestions and advice from those who accept our legitimate right to speak openly about our sufferings, our visions and dreams without prioritizing compromise to the ruling society.
Our self-determination and autonomy are non-negotiable hence our inevitable demand for an alternative structure.
We want genuine solidarity not paternalise support.
We want people who fight with us and not just fight for us.
We reserve the right to speak in our own voice for ourselves.
We refuse to allow you speak for us because we cannot allow you write our history.

The refugee council in Erfurt informed us that the rumour was NOT true that a new lager-camp will be built in the district of Sömmerda after the closure of the former refugee isolation camp in Gangloffsömmern this year due to our ongoing protest. There will be no more refugee camps anywhere in the district of Sömmerda.
