3rd and Final Press and Community Communiqué of the Kenyan Community, PEACE and The VOICE Refugee Forum Berlin.
Brother Brian Awino Nyawade has been laid to rest in dignity in his hometown in Kenya.
On behalf of the above-mentioned networks and the African/Black Community in general, we want to thank you for your engagement and support in bringing our brother Owino Nyawade Brian back home to rest.
Brother Nyawade died on the 29th of December 2017 and after a successful public fundraising (https://thevoiceforum.org/node/4470) by the Kenyan Community, the wishes of his family were respected and our brother was flown back to Kenya.
He was finally laid to rest on Saturday, the 24th of February 2018 in Kenya.
Without you, this would not have been possible. We thank you all for fulfilling the wishes of the family of our brother, bringing dignity to the community and being your brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. You showed a strong commitment in keeping the African Black Community together, in times of sorrow.
We want to thank especially the steering committee that steered the whole campaign till the end without any major setbacks.
Thanks once more for your support.
