„hier ist es wie in einem großen Grab“ Zitat eines Geflüchteten in Apolda
Aus den Medien ist bekannt, dass eine eritreische Frau sich und ihr Baby aus purer Verzweiflung über ihre Lebensumstände in Apolda umgebracht hat. Nicht bekannt geworden ist aber, dass ein Dritter Toter zu beklagen ist. Faraidun Salam Aziz war 38 Jahre alt.
Faraidun Salam Aziz (1.7.1979 – 1.5.2018)
Er ist am 01.05.2018 zwischen 3 und 4 Uhr morgens durch den Sturz aus einem Fenster im 4. Stock des Lagers für Geflüchtete in der Lessingstraße in Apolda gestorben. Er war vor 10 Jahren aus dem Irak/Kurdistan nach Deutschland geflohen und wohnte seit 8 Jahren in Apolda. In dem Lager in der Lessingstraße wohnte er erst seit ca. 4 Monaten, davor wohnte er im Lager in der Angespanne 3. Er war als ein sehr freundlicher Mensch bekannt, der vielen Menschen geholfen hat. Zum Beispiel hat er oft kostenlos auf Ämtern und Behörden für andere Geflüchtete übersetzt. Außerdem war bekannt, dass er unter starken Depressionen litt. Die Behörden in Apolda terrorisierten ihn, indem sie ihm eine Residenzpflicht auferlegten, dass heißt, er konnte Apolda nicht ohne Erlaubnis der Behörden verlassen. Sie zahlten ihm sein Geld außerdem nicht monatlich, sondern wöchentlich aus und er durfte keine Arbeit suchen.
Wir wissen nicht genau, wie er gestorben ist, aber wir sind sehr traurig und wütend, dass ein weiteres Leben in Apolda so dramatisch enden musste. In diesem Todesfall gibt es bisher ein großes Schweigen von Seiten der Behörden, der Polizei und der Medien. Damit muss Schluss sein! Denn jedes Leben ist bedeutsam und wir können nur in Solidarität zusammen stehen und kämpfen, wenn wir nicht Schweigen über die Menschen, die wir verlieren.
Am Montag, den 23.07.2018 um 18.00 Uhr, wollen wir uns gemeinsam mit Geflüchteten aus Apolda treffen. Dort werden wir uns über die Situation austauschen und weitere Schritte planen.

We know from the media that an eritrean woman killed herself and her baby in sheer desperation of her living conditions in Apolda. But it did not get known to the public that a third live is lost. Faraidun Salam Aziz was 38 years old. He died on the 01.05.2018 between 3 and 4 o clock in the morning of a fall out of a window of the 4. floor of the refugee camp in the Lessingstraße in Apolda. He has fled 10 years ago from Iraque / Kurdistan to germany and lived in Apolda since 8 years. In the camp in Lessingstraße he did live since about 4 months, before he lived in the camp in Angespanne 3.
He was known as a very friendly person who helped a lot of people. For example he often translated for free for other refugees in the administrative bodies and authorities. Beside this it was known that he suffered by severed depressions.
The authorities in Apolda terrorised him by putting him unter the Residenzpflicht, that means, he was not allowed to leave Apolda without the permission of the authorities. They payed his money not monthly but weekly and he was not allowed to look for a job. We don‘t know exactly how he died but we are very sad and angry that another life had to end so dramatically in Apolda. In this case of death
until now there is a huge silence from the authorities, the police and the media. This has to end! Because every life matters and we can only stand in solidarity together if we do not keep silent about the people we loose.
