The Fluchtlingsinitiative met over the weekend to elaborate on the situation of their Protest Action so far and to discuss the new development and chat the way forward.
The major agenda of the meeting was to critically examine the invitation from the District Office (Landratsamt) to each refugee at the Bleicherstr 47 with no clear discription on what they expect to discuss in the meeting.
Refugees could really not understand the reason for such an open letter and saw it as strange compared to the usual way letters of invitations are designed. They could not imagine why the Letter from the district Authourity failed to incoporate at least the minimum responce to their letter rather than an open invitation letter without clear agenda for the meeting in the district Office on 26.08.10.
More also, the letter was only sent to the Bleicherstr 47 inhabitant while the Ochsenhausen and Bad- Schussenried Refugee inhabitants got no invitation although they still face the same Problems.
It was also considered that the response from the District office was only prompted by the intervention of the Jounalist who confirmed the responsible Officer’s (Mr Stoffner) claim of not knowing who to exactly respond to.
The Journalist has refused to mention names at the insistance of the district Official (Mr Stoffner) as she tried to save them from the risk of facing direct intimidation.
In response to that, the Refugees confirmed that it was not an issue of fear but that they have no Hierachy but that they often meet together in an open Platform to discuss their issues. They only delegate Persons when the needs arises. They also Claimed that there is nothing more to criminalise them or intimidate them more than what they are been made to face already.
They also discussed the expectations of nothing different from what (Herr Stoffner) already explained to the Journalist during their telephone conversation i.e that the Complains were issues beyond their Jurisdiction but the State Paliament`s.
Secondly, they were quite sure of the Authouritys intention to indirectly bring them together for intimidation and impose their excuses which they would have no opportunity to Confront based on the Atmosphere.
We also see the meeting as an opportunity for them to handpicked,criminalised and intimidate us with their usual instruments of deportation and frustration as it is usual in such situations "complained the Refugees".
1.Part of the decision reached was to request an Open Meeting where Refugees could invite their concerns.
2.Delegating some amongst themselves to attend the meeting and bring feed back.
3.Asking for the Authourities to respond first in writting before a meeting could be accepted.
They also resounded their demands as follows;
No more Packet Food
No more stimatisation with the Clothings Offered
Abolition of Freedom of Movement Restriction (Residenzpflicht)
No more Criminalisation
In conclusion, one refugee left these words; We are not asking for much, just the little freedom we are entitled to as Humans in all normal sense.
The meeting continues with selected delegates from the Various Refugee Camps. They are expected to conclude a draft on the letter to be sent to the district Authourities as soon as possible.
