Support the campaign to resist the arrest of Miloud L. Cherif because of "Residenzpflicht" - Refugee movement restriction in Germany https://thevoiceforum.org/node/2242
''We Never Forget! We Never Forgive!'' was the title of the Rally in remembrance of the brutal deportation of Felix Otto to Cameroon. This event was reported on the 29.08.
It was organized by The VOICE Refugee Forum from Jena and the ''break isolation network''. The rally took place in Holzmarkt in Jena, where by 16:00 O'clock more than 50 people gathered in the square. Refugees from different regions in Thüringen ( Greiz, Zella Mehlis, Apolda, Waltershausen and Neustadt / Orla) attended the rally. Activists from Jena, and local residents got close to the square and spent their time listening to speeches held by refugees and activists.
Residenzpflicht was the main point different refugees and activists spoke about it. Felix Otto was persecuted for "Residenzpflicht" violation and sentenced to 8 months imprisonment from where he was directly deported to Cameroon. "Residenzpflicht" is another instrument in the hand of German policy makers to torture the refugees psychologically and financially, and a horrible way to isolate one person or a group, who ever they are, from the environment surrounding them. Almost all refugees had to be punished in this dirty instrument, some of them paid fines, others did not want to pay and went to jail because of that.
Felix Otto remembrance arrived this year in a similar moments to that in 2008 when he was persecuted for "Residenzpflicht" violation and Sentenced to 8 months imprisonment. Miloud from Zella Mehlis is a VOICE activist, who is obliged to pay 60€ for a "Residenzpflicht" violation, Miloud told that he has not more than two choices, either to pay the fine or to go to jail. The VOICE activist refused to pay the fine, because his freedom is NOT for sale, and he is ready for the jail or worse than that.
Osaren Igbinoba had the opening speech and helped in the moderation. Different refugees made their points when they took the chance to talk, many of them talked with an accent of anger when bringing out how they are treated by the German law. Activists and the local residents reacted to that facts brought by the refugees by denouncing it and showed their support to the fair case of the refugees in Germany.
People in this rally came together to denounce these criminal actions, and to defend refugees' rights in a fair life like any German on this land. Unite all against this inhuman policy because we are all human, so justice must be done in Germany and everywhere in the world.
This first part of the report was reported by Miloud L. Cherif
