We wish you, your families and friends all the best for the new year, health, spiritual and physical strength and love.
Many of our friends in Germany will meet soon in Dessau, on 7th of January, the day when Oury Jalloh was killed and burned in police custody in 2005, to commemorate all victims of racist police brutality and murder.
In the passed year 2013 in Hamburg, we, the local caravan group, joined a tough fight at the side of the libyan NATO war refugees "Lampedusa in Hamburg". A new kind of solidarity from many sectors of the civil society was brought out by the determined struggle of the group for the acknowlegment and recognition of their rights as NATO war refugees in Hamburg and recognized european refugees by Italy. Confronting the government and the public with their history and their demands they created more political awareness about the european hypocrisy and many people in Hamburg stood up against the ignorance and the harrassments of the Hamburg Senat (social democratic party SPD). The third winter on Europe's streets since the war turned their lifes upside down. This situation - the persisting persecution - has to come to an end in 2014. We have to strengthen our efforts in the coming days and month.
We need you all to help us and to mobilize for a big demonstration and political/cultural parade on 1st of March 2014 in Hamburg.
Best Regards
