A refugee from Liberia, Mr. Kelly who died in the refugee camp of Gerstungen because of poor medical treatment.
Again another death of refugees like the death of Ouri Jalloh , Laye Alama Conde, Dominiqe, Christy Schwundeck, those who died in the cold waters of oceans, those who died at borders by border guards… This death also makes us sad and angry. This is not all of it.
Death is the most important fact of the life, it is an absolute truth. All of us will die soon or later. But the way one dies reflect and shows in many ways the way she or he was lived. The death of these refugees reflects the general conditions under which a refugee lives. Refugee is a human that escape her or his country because of oppression, exploitation, war and miseries caused by marionette states and big powers ruling the world. Running out of her or his homeland risking her or his life passing through military guarded borders, living here always under the threat of deporting, in isolating campus, under compulsory residency “residenceflicht”, social exclusion, discrimination, obstacles for work and study… This kind of life is intolerable. Nobody can tolerate it. So we resist against it. We come here to fight against it.
But to fight and resist we need unity that is our strength. To unite we should be clear about two points. We should clearly oppose the reactionary marionette regimes ruling our lands and fighting to overthrow them. How can I march here with you without opposing the reactionaries in my own land? Especially how can I march as an Iranian with Afghanis’ friends, without opposing Islamic Republic of Iran? From other side the big powers that are running the world cause the continuity of these miseries all around the world. As far as this capitalist system and its rulers running the world there would not be any hope for radical changes, for a better world a world without exploitation, war, refugee, discrimination, and sexism and class brutality.
I call the very existing of marionette regimes and imperialists, the condition that they created for us, that “lager”. So I say: Das Lager must weg!
