Government Hypocrisy and Irrefutable Contradiction
Without exception, the German constitution states very clearly that human dignity is inviolable. But how is this interpreted by German politicians and authorities at both the state and federal levels with respect to innocent refugees? They impose the archaic and racist Residenzplicht coupled with all the institutionalized discrimination that is the hallmark of the Asylbeweberleistungsgezetz on us. They confine us to our local districts making us instant and perpetual criminals the moment we dare exercise our natural rights to freedom of movement. This shameful and horribly racist law is shamelessly defended by the authorities here in Germany in the name of “law and order”. The Residenzpflicht has become their weapon of first choice to stigmatize us as criminals who do not deserve to live in this country. Since the Caravan Congress of 2000, The VOICE with the Caravan network has led the campaign against this racist law and some of our members have been imprisoned as a result of their civil disobedience against the law. Yet, freedom of movement have remained a serious challenge. It remains a daunting challenge to our efforts to Break the Silence and Isolation despite the obvious state efforts to gloss over its inhumanity and cruelty, with cosmetic, superficial and deceptive changes. The substantive issue of our right to freedom of movement is not addressed. Let it be known that we are not and we cannot be deceived by such lip service and hypocrisy, irrespective of the surrogates through whom they want to "humanize" their inhumanity. We call for the abolition of the Residenzpflicht and that is NON NEGOTIABLE.
In a country where the constitution guarantees human dignity, the politicians confine us as refugees to crowded rooms with walls that are carpeted by fungus (Schimmel). They expose us and our little children to such health disasters in the hope that if they cannot forcefully or dubiously deport us, they can at least slowly destroy us, while it appears invisible, with long illness that may result from such exposure to health hazards. Alternatively, if we don't like it, we will eventually be forced out willingly or unwillingly. This is why they continue to surreptitiously execute the policy of confining us to crowded rooms in the Lager even where there are countless research showing that it is cheaper for refugees to live in individual apartments than such a dehumanizing Lager. Where they cannot in good conscience place their dogs or cats, they deliberately force us to live in. Can there be any explanation for this? Only these heartless politicians can rationalize and justify this inhumanity and persecution. But we challenge them to practice what they preach and show us that they still have a human heart. We are sick and tired of this blatant hypocrisy and the obviously irrefutable contradiction in their practices at our human cost.

The VOICE Refugee Forum – Autonomie oder Isolation?
Brot und Butter vs. Befreiungsvision
„Break Isolation!“ ist der Slogan der aktuellen Kampagne eines gleichnamigen Netzwerks, das durch eine Unterstützung der Arbeit des The VOICE Refugee Forums die physische und politische Isolation der Flüchtlinge in der Gesellschaft durchbrechen will. Dabei stellt sich in der Netzwerkarbeit mitunter die Frage, ob sich nicht The VOICE selbst vergleichsweise isoliert fühlen müsste. Kirchliche Gruppen, Integrationsbeiräte oder andere bürgerliche Initiativen lehnen das Flüchtlingsnetzwerk oft als „zu radikal“ ab, zu keinerlei Kompromissen bereit. Zentraler Konfliktpunkt sind dabei v.a. die karitativen, paternalistischen Ansätze solcher Initiativen, die vornehmlich die sukzessive Verbesserung der konkreten Lebenssituation der Flüchtlinge im Sinn haben. Dass sie dabei in aller Regel eine systemstabilisierende Rolle ausfüllen, durch geförderte Sozialprogramme direkt vom System profitieren und fundamentale Kritik als kontraproduktiv sehen, führt dann unweigerlich zum Bruch mit The VOICE.

Die Stimme der Unterdrückten – gegen falsch verstandene Solidarität von Rex Osa (The VOICE Refugee Forum)
Positionierung von The VOICE Refugee Forum zum Verständnis von Selbstorganisation und dem Kampf um die eigene Stimme
Die Geschichte der Unterdrückung ist lang und die Opfer brauchen den Raum, ihre Gefühle auszudrücken und diese Unterdrückungsstrukturen zu bekämpfen. Das heißt weder, dass Menschen ausgeschlossen werden, noch dass andere Kämpfe ignoriert werden, die ebenfalls gegen das System gerichtet sind. Es geht darum, deutlich zu machen, wie dringlich eine baldiger Wandel ist, ohne dabei unsere Position zu untergraben.
Die Hauptaufgabe von The VOICE ist es, die Etablierung von Flüchtlingsgemeinschaften und Lagerkommitees auf regionaler Ebene zu forcieren, um somit die Isolation zu durchbrechen – ungeachtet aller institutionalisierter rassistischer Einschränkungen. Wir setzen auf einen schrittweisen, langfristigen Aufbau von Strukturen des Flüchtlingswiderstands gegen alles, mit dem wir täglich konfrontiert sind. Sei es das Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz, die Isolation in den Lagern, Residenzpflicht, Abschiebung oder gar die Zerstörung unserer Herkunftsländer, welche uns zwang, von dort zu fliehen.
