Anti- deportation Workshop
As a step forward to exposing the deportation collaboratory instruments, The VOICE Refugee Forum is organizing an anti - deportation Workshop to open up discussions for information flow and concrete strategies for the anti - deportation Campaign in 2012.
This development is inevitable at this time when Asylum seekers are continually denied their rights, isolated and massively deported through brutal instruments of Frontex with - Germany being the biggest Financier.
Country embassies have continuously ignored all call to stop deportation collaboration involving forced identification exercise with the Nigerian Embassy taking the lead alongside Guinea, Serrie Leone, Gambia etc.
The Workshop will create a platform to analyze asylum seekers roles and rights in the process to tackle the high rate of Trauma that continues to destroy refugees on a daily basis and more also, formulate the call for the May 8, 2012 Demo at Nigeria Embassy premises in Berlin.
A Podium of experienced refugee Activists would be setup to address questions from participating asylum seekers while critical Questions beyond the scope of the members of the podium would be noted and later communicated to the respective refugees via emails, Telephone or otherwise.
The Workshop is expected to empower regional delegates to coordinate information and mobilize self organization potentials and networking of Refugees.
There will be space for critical evaluation and analysis on country Embassies involvement in the forced deportation hearing and the racist manner of identifying persons for deportation.
The Workshop will feature experienced refugee activists who are expected to share their Personal testimonies as a pool of experiences to empower the self determination of Refugees and further mobilize their engagement to support the ongoing anti-deportation networking to expose the abuses even to the home countries of refugees.
Activists and supporting groups are expected to understand deportation as racist persecution against migrants and therefore expected to mobilize refugees and migrants within their respective region for this workshop.
