Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde,

liebe Aktivistinnen und Aktivisten des Karawanenetzwerkes und politisch befreundeter Gruppen, Vereine und Organisationen, mit diesem Schreiben möcten wir Euch herzlich zur Teilnahme an dem Seminar vom 14. - 18. Dezember 2005 in Wuppertal einladen. Als Ergebnis der bundesweiten Karawanetreffen Anfang 2005 wurde beschlossen eine mehrtätige Versammlung mit allen Karawanegruppen sowie assozierten und auch politisch eng verbundenen Kreisen, die die Prinzipien und die politische Ausrichtung der Karawane (francais, english, deutsch) teilen, zu organisieren. Damit hoffen wir, die Koordination unserer Arbeit auf bundesweiter Ebene fortzusetzen und zu verbessern. Mittlerweile wurde auf mehreren Koordinierungstreffen die Planung vorangetrieben. Ein letztes Vorbereitungstreffen findet am ersten Dezemberwochenende in Wuppertal statt.

We are gathered here today to protest against the brutality of both the governments and societies of the European countries who for too long now are carrying out crimes against humanity against the very people whose forced displacement has been in order to put food on your table, gasoline in your car, rubber soles in your shoes, coffee in your cup and chocolate for dessert. When the people of continents such as Africa, Asia or Latin America first came to Europe, we were brought over as slaves, and many of us were literally placed in human zoos, where the Europeans could see how exotic, savage animals looked and dressed. In our homelands, millions throughout the world died under the colonial expansion and exploitation of our wealth and resources. Left behind were the neo-colonial servants and slaves drivers, also known as our supposed governmental leaders, so that the capitalistic machinery could continue.
