Migrante International - 29 November 2012. The first ever International Migrants’ Tribunal found 37 migrant-sending and -receiving States, including the Philippines, guilty of perpetuating modern-day slavery on migrant workers. The Tribunal was held at the University of the Philippines College of Law on November 28-29. It was attended by at least 300 delegates from the Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa, Australia, Latin America and United States.

Grundlage der Gerichtsverhandlung:
Herr Salomon Wantchoucou hat alles in seiner Macht stehende getan, um sich auszuweisen. Von Anfang an machte er korrekte Angaben zu seiner Identität und Herkunft (Cotonou, Benin), jedoch weigerten sich die zuständigen Beamten des Kreises seine wahre Identität zu akzeptieren.
Die Behauptung der Ausländerbehörde, Herr Wantchoucou würde nicht kooperieren, ist nur eine Strategie ihm sein Recht zu verweigern und ihn für seine Rolle in der Bekanntmachung der Lebensumstände von Flüchtlingen im Kreis Wittenberg zu bestrafen.
