Preparatory Meeting in Berlin on Saturday, 22.12.2007
For the Black African Conference in Dessau, January 2008.
On behalf of the members and representatives of the Ad-hoc-Committee of the "Black African Conference 2008” in Dessau who participated in the Black Community meeting in Hamburg on the 17/18th November and The VOICE Forum Jena Conference on the 1st of December this year in memory of Oury Jalloh, we are calling on the Black African Community activists for active participation in the next Black African Conference scheduled for 06.01.2008 in Dessau.
We are inviting groups and individuals to the preparatory meeting to discuss with delegates and activists of the community the yearly anniversary and to promote our solidarity initiatives. We call for the 3rd memorial anniversary of the mysterious death of OURY JALLOH, an African refugee from Guinea /Sierra-Leone who was burnt alive on 07.01.2005 in a police cell in the city of Dessau. The preparatory meeting is to talk among other things, about the call for the conference, its agenda and the planned demonstration on the 7th of January 2008. Further, reports on the actual situation of mobilisation for the conference and information about transportation logistics and finance for the meetings and demonstration will be exchanged.
We hope that the prosperity and the benefits in our solidarity engagements with African activists and victims of police brutality will be reached through collective participation in protests and to protect ourselves against the racial profiling and state abuse of Africans in Germany.
We expect active engagement and solidarity in our communities as we aim to develop a nation-wide network of Black African Communities for the yearly event in Desaau and beyond.
We Offer our solidarity, sympathy and condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of Oury Jalloh and Dominique Kouamadio and condemn their murder.
To commemorate the brutal death of Oury Jalloh, the African Community Dessau in collaboration with other initiatives in Germany are calling on all Africans and well wishers to use this day in remembrance of other Africans and Blacks who died in the racist system of this country.
