Solidarity Message - In Memory of Francis Kwame

Ugnayan ng Manggagawang Migrante Tungo Sa Pag-unlad (Umangat) of Rome Italy, joins the Libyan war refugees group “Lampedusa in Hamburg” in commemorating the death of Francis Kwame who worked for the German company Bilfinger in Libya and survived the NATO war in Northern Africa and the deadly Mediterranean crossing and proceeded to Germany as a war refugee.

To all those who see the need for change, Activists are invited to contribute their experiences on: States abuses of refugee rights, expulsion and deportation pratices, equal opportunity, empowering solidarity and equal opportunities forn freedom of movemts and for unconditional rights to stay by sending your inputs for the “2nd Refugee Seminar and Workshop on: How YOU can stop your deportation”

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) honors Francis Kwame, steadfast fighter for the rights of refugees. He died in Hamburg on 20 March 2014.

We convey our heartfelt condolences to his fellow refugees especially in "Lampedusa Hamburg", valiant supporters from different militant organizations supporting the refugees, and many other fellow refugees around the world who struggle for asylum and the right to a life of dignity they deserve.

“ We remember Francis Kwame who survived the NATO war in Libya but died in the streets of Hamburg ”.

We, from the International Migrants Alliance- Europe section ( IMA-Europe) remember and mourn the death of Francis Kwame who died on 20 March 2014 in Hamburg. He was a steadfast African activist who fought for the rights of refugees, particularly his fellow refugees in the “Lampedusa in Hamburg” campaign for asylum for refugees who moved from Lampedusa to Hamburg. We extend our condolences and sympathy to its members and to the supporters of this solidarity movement. Let us turn our grief into courage.

We regret and mourn the death of our fellow refugee Francis Kwame in Hamburg. This is one of the outcome and evidence of stats repression, injustice, discrimination, war in Libya.

Francis Kwame is dead!

Francis Kwame , according to the information, had survived war in Libya, where he had lived and worked for almost 20 years . Lost all he had worked for so many years, obliged to quit Libya to exile, to protect his life in Europe.

"He did not die in Hamburg, he did not die in Lybia, he died in the moment when NATO decided to attack Libya!", one Afghan refugee said during the first presentation of the video in Jena during a meeting of THE VOICE Refugee Forum. Someone said thereafter: "He died even once before, when he left his land and his familly to Libya, to work and be able to support the family back home."
