Der Film über das KARAWANE Festival gegen koloniales Unrecht in Jena erscheint bald - am 5. Feb. um 18:30 in Hamburg

Im Sommer 2010 fand in Jena drei Tage lang ein Festival unter dem Slogan “Vereint gegen koloniales Unrecht, in Erinnerung an die Toten der Festung Europa” statt, organisiert von den AktivistInnen der Flüchtlingsorganisationen Karawane und The Voice Refugee-Forum, unterstützt von Studierenden der Uni Jena sowie von zahlreichen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern. Ein Festival als Demonstration des politischen und kulturellen Widerstands. Eine Demonstration gegen Kolonialismus mit den Mitteln der Kunst als Mahnmal für die Toten der Festung Europa.

Ein Höhepunkt des Festivals war eine Maskenparade mit original westafrikanischer Masken und das Aufrufen, der auf der Flucht verschollenen. In einer Zeremonie wurden sie von maskierten Tänzern aufgerufen, die stellvertretend vom Schicksal der Verschollenen, auf ihrem Weg nach Europa, berichteten.
