attached you will find a short letter of petition to the German Bundestag to stop Togo deportation and to protect the refugees fled from dictatorship.
On Monday a long version in the name of one caravan member from the Hamburg group was send to the Petitionsausschuss.
To support the Petition and to present the big interest everybody and every organisation is asked to send an aditional petition (for that you can use the attached short version) to the Bundestag.

Togo Action Plus in collaboration with The "International Campaign against dictatorship in Togo and other African countries" have invited the Vice-President of the Togolese Human Rights League (LTDH) Siméon Clumson-Eklu in Halle to the weekend meeting in Halle:

Date: Saturday 18 and Sunday 19th of Febuary 2006
Time: From 1 pm
Place: Ludwigstrasse 37, Halle(Saale)

In light of the ongoing campaign to stop the deportation to Togo, he will also speak about the political situation and the human rights abuses in Togo.
There will also be screening of a film from Togo and of a video documentation about the campaigns in Europe.

PS: Sleeping places are available for all but please come with your sleeping bags.

Pressemitteilung

- Mecklenburg-Vorpommern hat Abschiebungen nach Togo vorläufig ausgesetzt

- Adzrakou Komi Anani aus der Haft entlassen

- Alassane Mousbaou weiterhin gefährdet

- Proteste am Jahrestag des Todes von General Eyadema

Durch die immer breiter werdenden Protesten gegen die Abschiebungen in die Diktatur Togo sah sich die SPD-Fraktion am Montag, den 06.02.06, veranlaßt, vorläufig alle Abschiebungen nach Togo auszusetzen. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern werde so lange keine Abschiebungen vornehmen, bis ein neuer Lagebericht vom Auswärtigen Amt erarbeitet sei, erklärte eine Sprecher des Schweriner Innenministeriums. Wie lange dies dauern werde, ist im Moment nicht zu beantworten.
